In 2007 while operating an online business, Owner Tony and Hai were busy spending days running their daily operations. A former custom car builder, Tony quit his job to finish School. On the day he was to walk and receive his college degree, he went out and opened his first business. He later lured his older brother Hai to join in his venture. The two spent several years building their company from scratch. Spending countless hours in front of a computer soon caught up with Tony who began to feel an itch to build again. A seasoned rider, who soon found and caught the Ruckus bug after a good friend introduced him to the custom world of these little scooters.
Tony built his first bike out of his warehouse of operations in 2008. The bike becomes known as "gAME oVER." A cleaned up version of a Rat Rod theme bike inspired by Russell Mitchell. He took that build and started recruiting some friends who ended up having him build them bikes and since he was already building these bikes, he decided to bring in parts for these builds. As people caught the word of him stocking parts and building custom Ruckus's, they started to come to the warehouse and a business soon emerged. Some where along the way he came to a crossroad. With not enough time or room in the warehouse to operate both businesses, he had to make a decision. Did he want to sit in front of a computer all day, or did he want to start something new & exciting? It seemed that fate wasn't too far off, b/c his itch to get back into the customizing world would soon change not only his life, but his brothers as well. It was a difficult choice at the time because one business was well on it's way to being established and the other one really had no market or scene.
Right at the new year of 2009, Rucksters becomes the first fully operationally custom Ruckus shop in the US. The transition was easy for Tony and Hai who had been working together for many years and knew how to operate an online business and understanding that customer service is the key to any successful business. That year Tony and Hai recruited their eldest brother Sonny, who was a graduate from the Honda PACT program and was a master tech at several big companies like Honda and Car Max. It didn't take long for the oldest to catch on to what they were doing and brought a whole new dimension to the team. His knowledge and experience with working on engines for many years brought a skill set that complimented each other very well as part of this three man team. It was the perfect storm.
2010 - The Ruckus scene in the SGV had gain momentum. Both Socal and Norcal groups were growing and the word was spreading around the U.S. A few shops would open up and would create a real buzz around the ruckus community. The ruckus would soon be seen at many car and motorcycle events. That year Rucksters built "TOP SECRET" which won numerous awards and really was the first build to introduce Rucksters Core Axis Center Shock Mount. That year, Rucksters built a total of 22 bikes. Many going across the country to out of state customers. They were getting noticed on a national level.
Fast forward to 2015, our custom builds have reached numerous parts of the United States, including Guam with "Bronze Bomber" and "Fortissimo" and Hawaii with "Pocket Change" and "Nikka." Our bikes are even in Europe, with "Military Spec" in Nice, France and "Barely Legal" in Moscow, Russia.
